Greenwood Ave Rest, Bethel CT
My Dad, Camp, ran a small cafe called the Greenwood Rest on Greenwood Ave, in Bethel, CT, not far from the border with Danbury. It was located on corner of Greenwood Ave and Diamond Ave, next to what is now American Pride store and Bethel Music Center today. This photo was taken around 1944-1945. I love this photo of my father, all of 20 years old, cigarette dangling from his mouth. I don't remember seeing him smoke. He quit when I was around 3 or 4yrs old and became a fervent anti-smoker after that. Not sure how long the restaurant was in existence. Copyright: Marc Catone, 2013
