This great open-air market featuring fruit and vegetables was located on the corner of West St and Williams St in Danbury. The photo is an old one. When I went there as a teen in the 60s there was a large canopy over the fruit and vegetables. I rode my bicycle and later drove there, mainly on weekends to buy fruit, veggies, and especially corn during the summer. It was one of the first places that had sprinklers spraying water on the vegetables to keep them fresh. Present day, a community-based mental health agency called "Interlude" is in a new building on the site of Andrew's Market.
