Danbury Town Park
I spent much of my summers as a teen at the Danbury Town Park on the shores of Lake Candlewood. In the mid-Sixties, it was THE place to see and be seen with your friends, girlfriend etc. There was a big First Aid and Life Guard hut that had two giant speakers blasting the Top 40 hits from 77-WABC all day. This photo was taken in October 2008, during the weekend of my high school class' 40th Reunion. ---copyright: Marc Catone 2010

Beautiful photo of Candlewood lake with the island. Spent so many days there in the summer, after riding the city bus from the corner of South and Coal Pit Hill Rd.

I took that bus to Danbury Town Park many times. Caught it in from of Nejame's IGA market. 1965 and 1966 were my big years for summertime rides on the bus to the lake.
