Mark Twain

I've always been an admirer of Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens), and consider him to be the greatest American writer. I grew up in Danbury CT, only 7 miles from Twain's final home, Stormfield, located in the town of Redding. He died there in 1910. Today, the Mark Twain Library is located nearby. I used the library several times while a student at WestConn U. in Danbury for a course on Twain's writings. Today, I live about an hour's drive away from where Clemens is buried, Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira NY. I had the pleasure of visiting the home he built for his family in Hartford CT (his next door neighbor was Harriet Beecher Stowe). A wonderful Mark Twain museum is located on the grounds. Contained below are a few Twain-related photos.
