Welcome

"Preserve your memories, they're all that's left you"

                                    Paul Simon (Bookends)

I've been writing about my life and times for as long as I can remember, which is getting to be a considerable amount of time lately.  I'm a child of the Sixties, and most of my writings tend to be about the events of that era, and how they affected me, then and now.

My first book, As I Write This Letter: An American Generation Remembers The Beatles, came out in 1982.  My second book, The Giant's Chair, was published originally in digital format in 1999, and in paperback in 2005. It is now available on Kindle and Nook.  See the Links section for Amazon information on both books.

This website features previously published and new articles of mine(from CounterPunch, Beatlefan, Danbury News-Times, Common Dreams, and Ithaca Journal), and an excerpt from my new book, Until The Birds Chirp: Reflections On The Sixties (now available on Amazon, See Links)

Click above on Beatles/Sixties and The Danbury Fair for articles and essays on The Beatles, the Sixties, and Danbury CT, Lennon and One to One Concert for articles about the late John Lennon and his well known concert at Madison Square Garden, Concert for Bangladesh for my memories of that famous event, and The Doors In Danbury for an account of The Doors' October 1967 concert at Danbury High School.  Also check out Bernie Sanders and UFO.

Once you click on any of those tabs, scroll down to the title of each article.

Also, check out the Photo Gallery for photos of the Danbury Fair, Danbury in the 50s and 60s, Sixties pop culture/political events, Christmas cards from Yoko Ono and Steve Leshin and letters to me from the late Rock critic, Lillian Roxon; Videos, ranging from The Beatles to the Danbury Fair Song to James Brown; and Catone Links, which list URLs for my two books, recommended books, special interest websites, and magazines.

Between January 2012 - July 2015 my family lost seven people we knew and loved.  See In Memoriam for remembrances of Martha Catone, Brian Washington, Carol Iannacone Crimi, Kevin Javillonar, Lura Hastings Lane (Sr. Lura Grace), Art DiRienzo, and Gilberte Najamy.

Thanks for stopping by.

Marc
